Rūta’s Chocolate Shop
A sweets shop and cafe “Rūta” was designed in Vilnius old town, Trakai Street. The premises are small, consisting of only 46 sq.m., but Linas Mackevičius’ team had a goal to create a representative, cozy, and a comfortable space. The “Rūta” factory is unique to the Baltic region. It was established in 1913 as a family owned business and throughout the last century it has been producing original sweets, chocolate, and cakes. The assortment is very wide and varies according to the season so the shop had to be designed with universal exposition shelves. The space for bulk candies, boxes, chocolate figures, and even cakes had to be found. There is even a small sitting area by the windows to enjoy a cup of coffee with a sweet.
It was chosen to combine a stone pattern with dark brown wood and golden elements to create the look of the shop. “Rūta’s” production/The goods pops out in this solid interior with a help of the LED lighting. As a mark of authenticity, the signature of the first owner of the factory is signed in golden ink on the counter desk.
